State Finder for TikTok (“the extension”) is a browser extension that estimates the likely US state of a TikTok creator from publicly visible signals. This policy explains what data the extension handles.

1. Data the extension accesses

When you click “Analyze,” the extension reads publicly visible content on the TikTok page you chose and on the creator’s public profile: video captions, hashtags, the creator’s bio and display name, recent video captions, public comments and replies, and TikTok’s public account region code. It does not access your private messages, your TikTok account, your browsing history, or any page you did not ask it to analyze.

2. Data you provide

You enter a MiMo API key in Settings. This key is stored locally in your browser (chrome.storage.local) and is used only to authenticate requests to the MiMo AI API. It is never sent to the developer.

3. How data is used and shared

To produce an estimate, the collected public text and a prompt are sent to the MiMo AI API (https://api.xiaomimimo.com) using your API key. That request is subject to MiMo’s own privacy policy and terms. The extension sends data to no other third party. There is no developer-operated server, and the developer receives, stores, and has access to none of your data.

4. Local storage and retention

Your API key, settings, and analysis results are stored locally in your browser. Results are cached for up to 30 days and can be deleted at any time from the History tab or by removing the extension. Uninstalling the extension removes all locally stored data.

5. No tracking or sale of data

The extension contains no analytics, advertising, or tracking. It does not sell or share your data, and does not use data to determine creditworthiness or for lending.

6. Intended use

The extension is intended for journalistic verification, research, and open-source intelligence on public content. Results are probabilistic estimates, not statements of fact. Do not use the extension to harass, stalk, or harm any individual.
